Hello again everyone! This week was a busy week, but we are progressing really well! In math, we have covered fractions and percents, and will be moving into review next week before a small quiz! After this, we will be moving on to statistics and probability! In science, we have started our classroom chemistry unit, and the students have had a blast with their solutions and mixtures! In social, we tried working with history scripts, and it was a lot of fun from what they had said! I always want to make subjects as fun and engaging as I can. Lastly, in ELA we have been working hard at our story writing, breaking down all parts of the story before writing and editing our stories in a couple weeks! I hope you all have a lovely weekend :). -Mr. Junaid

Hi everyone! We have had a busy week! We transitioned after our math test on division to doing decimals, and at the end of the week we started to cover fractions. I am proud of all of the students, as this is not easy work, but they are doing great! We are finishing up our magnet unit this week, moving into classroom chemistry next week, which I know all of the students are really excited for! We have gotten into our story writing unit, and have been covering the introduction part of the story in depth, next week, we will be moving into the rising action part of the story. Lastly, in social studies, we have been continuing our deep dive into Canada and it's history of immigration with story perspectives from people who have immigrated into Canada. I hope you all have a lovely weekend! -Mr. Junaid.

Hello All! This week, my grade 5s wrote their first unit test with me for multiplication and division, and I am so proud of them because the mark are looking great! We have also began working with decimals, converting them from remainders, and will continue with fractions next week. For science, we had our first official experiment using a lab report according to the scientific method. The kids were happy to have some time with the magnets, and this knowledge of how to complete a lab will serve us well for our next unit, which is classroom chemistry, being heavy in labs. For social studies, we are beginning our stories of Canada unit, where we have looked at Francophone and British immigration influence, as well as some First Nations and Metis mapping and legends. Lastly, we have been finishing our poetry books for our poetry unit, and we will be starting story writing next week! I hope you are all have a great weekend with your families! -Mr. Junaid.
